eSports secures Norwegian TV spot

Norway’s largest commercial broadcaster TV 2 has agreed to broadcast a full eSports season.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and StarCraft 2 will form the initial offer, Gosu Gamers reports. The program is being run in conjunction with events company House of Nerds.

The majority of the broadcasts will be aired on TV 2 Sumo, but some content will be run on the network’s premier sports channel TV 2 Sports.

The channel’s Mikael Harstad Groven added that he is “convinced that this is an exciting and innovative television product”.

eSports has previously been broadcast in fellow Scandinavian countries Sweden and Finland, while DirecTV broadcasts eSports in the US.
