Splatoon 2 confirmed for the Nintendo Switch

At the Nintendo Switch reveal overnight the Japanese company revealed Splatoon 2.

The sequel to one of the Wii U’s best games will feature new maps, weapons and game modes, while keeping the core gameplay fairly similar to the first title.

Splatoon developed into somewhat of a cult eSport during its life, with Gfinity and Nintendo themselves running events in the UK. In the teaser trailer for the Switch, what we now know as Splatoon 2, was shown off with two teams battling it out in a massive arena in front of thousands of fans.

Nintendo did not comment on their eSports plans for Splatoon 2, however you have to assume that they do have some plans after that initial trailer.
