Rocket League was officially the best selling game on the PlayStation Store in Europe and America in 2016.
Despite launching way back in 2015 the car soccer title beat the likes of Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Minecraft to the number one spot, proving that the young eSport still has legs.
2016 has been a breakout year for the title, with its eSports scene growing rapidly. Thousands of people tuned in to the recent Season Two Grand Finals in Amsterdam proving that Rocket League should be considered one of the top eSports in the world. With sales figures like that it is hard to argue with.
Fellow eSport FIFA 17 claimed 2nd place in Europe while Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare came in at 10th. FIFA 16 stuck around in 12th with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege coming in at 15th. Who said console eSports were dead?
