Sanzaru Games swapping handheld projects for consoles

Sonic Boom dev hiring for Xbox One, PS4 title

The studio behind Sonic Boom on 3DS is currently recruiting for a new project that is intended for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

A job listing from Sanzaru Games, spotted by DualShockers, shows it is looking for a level artist with a passion for crafting "immersive experiences and breathtaking worlds".

The successful applicant will be tasked with constructing 3D environments, including modeling, mapping, lighting, effects and more, and will be asked to "develop, experiment and advance the environments by innovating new techniques".

The listing is significant because Sanzaru has previously specialised in handheld titles. As well as Sonic Boom, the US studio has also developed the God of War Collection, Sly Cooper Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for PlayStation Vita.

There’s no more concrete information on the developer’s new title. It’s even unclear which engine it will be built in, with the listing adding that "working knowledge of Unreal and Unity [is] a big plus".
