Much-lauded action title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, has committed up to a $50,000 pledge to a US mental health charity – dependent on sales of its upcoming Xbox One release. Which lands today after an eight-month period of being available only on PS4 and PC.
The charity pledge is tiered, with 50,000 unit sales in the first week equating to $25,000 donated and 100,000 units providing $50,000. The charity push is in keeping with the content of the title that tackles the mental health issues of its protagonist.
#Hellblade is Out Now for #XboxOne!
If we hit 50,000 week 1 unit sales by April 18th, we can donate $25K to Mental Health America @MentalHealthAm !
If we hit 100,000 we can donate $50K! Spread the word! We can do it!https://t.co/Ji9YxfX6CM pic.twitter.com/J6W2JPNKCG

A similar push in the UK last year, on World Mental Health Day, donated all profits from the game’s sales on that single day to mental health charity Rethink, raising over £60,000.
The new target looks eminently achievable with the game having exceeded its sales expectations on previous formats. And the charity push should certainly focus minds on an immediate purchase. There’s also a ten per cent discount for pre-orders and first week sales.
The game has been updated for the platform as well, Ninja Theory stated: ‘Hellblade on Xbox supports HDR and the game is enhanced for Xbox One X, with players having the choice of 3 enhanced modes to select from: Enhanced Visuals mode offers extra FX and visual quality throughout the experience, High Framerate mode runs the game at 60fps and High Resolution mode runs the game with dynamic resolutions up to 4K.
