Competitive gaming element of October event organised by Versus Scotland

Game Expo Scotland details eSports Zone

Attendees at Game Expo Scotland will have the chance to engage in eSports competition – but not with the games you might be expecting.

The shows organisers have teamed up with fighting game community Versus Scotland to create an eSports Zone spread across three distinct areas.

The Fun Zone will allow attendees to check out a selection of light-hearted current and retro games, headlined by a Mario Kart 8 tournament.

The Casual Zone will centre around a diverse range of fighting games, including Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and recent indie smash hit Gang Beasts.

Finally, The Ultra Zone will host interactive tutorials and guides on Saturday, teaching attendees how to play some of the leading fighting games, such as Ultra Street Fighter IV. Sessions will given by Tom Piddock, creator of Frame Trapped – a tool that helps gamers master Street Fighter combos.

Game Expo Scotland is a new consumer event that will take place in Edinburgh across the weekend of October 4th and 5th.

It is a media partner for Develop Live, a one-day conference that takes place in Edinburgh on Thursday, October 2nd. This will be the first conference organised by the team behind Develop magazine – find out more at www.develop-live.net.

The call for speakers at Develop Live closes on Thursday, July 31st. Email developlive@intentmedia.co.uk to find out how you can propose a talk.
