Event will be in partnership with Game Republic, University of Bradford, Bradford College and more

Five-day games festival coming to Yorkshire this November

The inaugural Yorkshire Games Festival will take place this November in Bradford, celebrating the region’s contributions to the video games industry.

Yorkshire is home to several highly successful studios, including Team17, Rockstar Leeds, Sumo Digital, Revolution Software, and Double Eleven.

The five-day event will be held at Bradford’s National Media Museum a week ahead of the institute’s annual Widescreen Weekend. The Yorkshire Games Festival will run from November 9th to 13th.

The festival will be organised with the help of local developer network Game Republic, with support from the University of Bradford, Bradford College and various games studios from the region. The full programme will be announced next month.

“We are launching a new video games festival aimed at giving students, recent graduates and those breaking into the field access to industry-leading professionals from the region and beyond,” said Jo Quinton-Tulloch, director of the National Media Museum. “I’m delighted to say we’ve already received a very enthusiastic response.”
