Game Show Network Games (GSN) has confirmed it has appointed former Rovio EVP, Wilhelm Taht.
Joining the firm as SVP General Manager for Bingo Bash, Taht – who will report directly to CEO Mark Feldman when he starts later this month – picks up responsible for Bingo Bash across all platforms, as well as direct management of the Bingo studios in Bangalore and Kyiv.
Taht has worked in the mobile games industry in a variety of roles since 2004, including marketing, product and general management positions. Most recently, he worked at Rovio as executive vice president, games.
“Wilhelm has an outstanding track record and deep experience in the online, mobile and social games categories and I am thrilled that he is joining the GSN Games senior leadership team. We are fortunate to be able to add his vision and strategy to driving growth in our Bingo studio,” said Mark Feldman, Game Show Network’s President and CEO.
“I am super excited to join GSN Games and am looking forward to help steer Bingo Bash into its second decade of live operations. Having been in the mobile games industry for over 16 years, I’m very happy to start working in what for me is a previously unexplored area of content,” added Taht. “And what better place than GSN Games, which is both a pioneer and an innovator in its space, with an incredibly exciting content roadmap ahead!”
GSN Games describes itself as “a world-leading developer of casual games” and includes over 90 game titles – spanning “a spectrum of genres” – in its portfolio, including Solitaire Rush, Wheel of Fortune, Bingo Bash, Bejeweled 2, and Scrabble Cubes.
In other notable departures, Gio Corsi, PlayStation’s head of global second-party games, announced earlier this week he has left the company. In a tweet on his personal Twitter account, Corsi – who joined the company as a senior director just ahead of the launch of PlayStation 4 in 2013 – said it had been “a hell of a ride” and was “extremely proud of all the amazing things [PlayStation] accomplished”.
“It’s been a hell of a ride but last week was my final one at PlayStation,” Corsi tweeted. “I’m taking some time off but I will be back in games soon enough. I’m extremely proud of all the amazing things we accomplished. Big love to everyone past & present who made my time there truly special.”
