Strong sales of Phoenix Wright and Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition have pushed Capcom’s quarter one sales up 35.1 per cent year-on-year.
The company has now raised its six-month earnings forecast on the back of the results for the quarter ended June 30th, which saw revenues of 14.3 billion yen ($121m).
Phoenix Wright 4 sold over 500,000 copies – making it the most successful in the DS-based series to date.
Operating income for the period increased 57.2 per cent year-on-year to 2.1 billion yen ($17.8 m). Net income was up 39.7 per cent to 1.1 billion yen ($9.3m).
As a result, Capcom has upped its net sales forecast for the six months to September 30th from 29.3 billion yen ($248.6m) to 30.4 billion yen ($258.1m), and readjusted its expectations for operating income in the same period to 2.4 billion yen ($20.4m) – up 60 per cent from 1.5 billion yen ($12.7m).
