Rockstar reveals Grand Theft Auto Online; will launch after GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 will let you and your friends ride your dirt bikes off a cliff and parachute down to the ground in tandem. That and a whole lot more is possible in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Yesterday, Rockstar Games showed off the online features of GTA 5, revealing an online persistent world that gives players unprecedented freedom.

You’ll have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community,” the update on Rockstar’s website said.

Players will also be able to create crews and will be rewarded with XP for all their activities in Grand Theft Auto Online, with which they can upgrade and customise their characters.

The potential is massive and if the below trailer and the many previews around the web are anything to go by, Grand Theft Auto Online will be an absolute blast.

Grand Theft Auto Online is a separate entity, and while it will be available for free to all Grand Theft Auto 5 customers, it will only be available two weeks after the 17th Setpember release of GTA 5.
