Techland lands the top spot as Dead Island: Riptide continues to sell well in the UK. Last month’s number one, Bioshock Infinite developer Irrational Games, has dropped to tenth place.

The biggest movers inside the top 20 include Star Trek developer Digital Extremes, which comes in at 14th place, and Capcom, which has moved up from 18th to 6th on the back of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Rockstar North has re-entered the top 20 thanks to sales of Grand Theft Auto IV, likely in relation to the hype surrounding the upcoming GTAV, currently set to be released on September 17th.

Independent developers have made inroads on publisher-owned studios this month, with seven developers from the top 20 working independently.

As with previous months, the USA dominates the list with eight developers, while Canada boasts another four. Rockstar North joins Traveller’s Tales as the only two UK studios in the list.
