It was a great night at the Develop Awards 2017, and the Awards this year went to showcase a vast array of the UK games industry and beyond.
This year saw several new categories for the awards and it opened up many games and studios to be shortlisted – the biggest shortlist in the history of the awards and the most entries we’ve ever received.
Notable points are Guerrilla Games scooping Studio of the Year and the Animation Award for Horizon Zero Dawn. Creative Assembly is also multiple winners for Music Design and In House Studio. Rocksteady Studios are also celebrated with their excellent VR addition to the Batman Arkham series of games with Visual Design and Sound Design.
The Specialist categories too saw new winners with server provider Multiplay winning the Technology Award and Gamemaker Studio winning the Design and Creativity Award.
We’d also like to thank our sponsors including headline sponsor Unreal Engine/Epic Games and our Charity partner, WarChild. Aardvark Swift, OPM, Amiqus, Gamescom, MoGI Group, Games London, Perforce, Testronic, PTW, Dolby, Ukie, Unity, and our event partner Develop:Brighton also has our thanks for sponsoring the awards.
