New studio, Polygon Treehouse, formed by former Guerrllia Cambridge devs

A new studio, Polygon Treehouse, has been started by two former Guerrilla Cambridge art directors.

Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou and Tom Jones announced the forming of the studio to Eurogamer and to their own blog, with a second annoucement of their firs ttitle, Röki, a point and click adventure.

Guerrilla Cambridge was shut in January by Sony following from the release of PSVR exclusive, RIGS. Writing on the blog, Kanaris-Sotiriou said, "It was a super-neat studio, we worked hard alongside some super-talented people and we’d made some super-great games over the years that we were really proud of. However, sometimes life throws you a curve ball and earlier this year Guerrilla Cambridge sadly closed it’s doors.

"We’ve both had a lot of great experiences during our time there, had learnt a huge amount from some very talented people and made some awesome friends along the way so it was going to take a little time to absorb, process and work out what we wanted to do next."

On what happens next for the two person team, and their newest project, Kanaris-Sotiriou expanded further, by saying, "One thing that was really important to us both from the get-go was that we didn’t want to develop in a vacuum keeping everything Secret Squirrel.

"We’re going to be openly sharing as we develop Röki via Twitter (@PolyTreehouse) and this blog," he added. "We want to build a community and fan-base around the game, share with you our art, techniques, inspirations, musings and trials as we go as well as getting you feedback on what you think of this thing we’re coaxing into life. So, this will be the first of many blog-posts. We’re going to firing one out every week or so and already have a whole bunch of exciting stuff we want to talk to you about."
