Focus Home Interactive’s president and chairman Cédric Lagarrigue has announced his resignation from both positions. He didn’t not reveal the reason behind this resignation or where he is going next.
In a statement, Lagarrigue said: "After more than 20 years dedicated to the development of Focus, I took the decision to resign from my positions of president and member of the board. I really wanted to send warm thanks to everyone, colleagues, studios and partners who followed me along more than 20 extraordinary professional years.
"Success after success, Focus has grown and has become today a recognised actor of the video game industry at an international level. This year 2018 should confirm the strong growth of the company, with projects to come that are among the most attractive ones in Focus history. I wanted to add that I have a great trust in the Management of Focus, as well as in all the talents of the company, who will know how to maintain Focus at the same level of performance and excellence."
He concluded: "See you later in the video game market or anywhere else. Future and desires will decide."
Jürgen Goeldner, currently member of Focus’ supervisory board and who previously worked for the likes of Eidos and THQ, is to replace Lagarrigue as chairman of the management board. He commented : "Focus has several licences that offer great potential and I am pleased to be joining this talented team and to be able to share my expertise in drawing on these licences to take the company to a new stage in its development.”
Speaking to MCV earlier this year, Lagarrigue discussed Focus’ ambitious line-up for 2018, with Vampyr leading the charge, after a very successful 2017 for the French publisher.
