Update on June 11th 12pm: Details on Marvel’s Avengers are still scarce since the big reveal last night, but Square Enix has confirmed it’ll be a live game to some extend as “the game will take players on an epic journey delivered over multiple years,” the official blurb said.
The four players co-op mode’s “narrative will be delivered over multiple years” as well, Square Enix doubled down. All content updates will be free to players who own the game and there will be no “no random loot boxes or pay-to-win scenarios” in the upcoming title, the publisher added.
However, Square Enix also mentioned you can “unlock powerful skills and new gear,” with “nearly limitless ways to customise” the heroes so we’re certainly allowed to expect some sort of in-game transactions.
Original story (published during Square Enix’s E3 conference on June 11th, 3am): Square Enix has finally unveiled the much anticipated Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal’s Avengers game.
Simply titled Marvel’s Avengers, it’ll be releasing on May 15th 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, Stadia and PC, with an early beta access for PS4 players (with more benefits “to be revealed in the future” for PS4 players).
Square Enix confirmed the game will be regularly updated with new content at no extra cost.
Creative director at Crystal Dynamics Shaun Escayg said it’ll be both single-player and co-op (four players online) and it will feature a brand new original story – “a story about self acceptance,” Escayg said.
Apart from the big reveal, we haven’t see much about the type of game it is – we’ll update this story as we learn more. Pre-orders are already available on Square Enix’s website.
