Games industry cyclists to bike back from Gamescom for charity

After a week in Cologne, most of us prefer the shortest journey home possible, but ten games industry execs will take a more scenic route.

Representatives of NCsoft, Indigo Pearl, Get Games, PlayStation Network, Future Publishing, Steel Series and Kalypso Media will cycle home from Cologne to Brighton straight after Gamescom 2012.

The team will be riding 352 miles over three days, for 10 to 15 hours a day – all in a bid to raise money for industry charity GamesAid. They will start at 5am on Saturday, August 18th and arrive in Blighty on Monday, August 20th.

Last year, NCsoft’s Cat Channon and GamesRadar’s Nathan Irvine raised 2,461. So far, 2012’s riders have already raised 4,533.

This year, Channon will be joined by Indigo Pearl’s James Beaven, Kalypso’s Mark Allen, PSN’s Nathan Ditum and his freelancer wife Sarah Ditum, Future’s David Jackson, Robert Pearson and David Priestman, Steel Series’ Nick Hayward, and Get Games’ Graeme Struthers.

The team is being sponsored by NCsoft and Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet. Indigo Pearl will provide a support vehicle.

You can sponsor the team by heading to their fundraising page at JustGiving.
