The man in charge of EA’s labels will open Gamescom with a talk that will discuss the ‘change in the landscape of the video game industry.’
Frank Gibeau will apparently tell the world why the games we will play four years from now will be unrecognisable to us today. Which actually sounds very, very interesting.
Hewill also look at the industry’s transition to digital and direct to consumer offerings.
Last year Eric Hirsberg delivered the Gamescom keynote, and criticised EA for wanting Call of Duty to ‘rot from the core’.
Gibeau’s speech will take place on August 15th, at 6pm UK time (7pm in Cologne).
EA will be at Gamescom in a big way once again. There will be a press conference on Tuesday, August 14th, with the likes of FIFA 13, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, Crysis 3 and SimCity on show. There will also surely be a few surprises.
