ESL Arena to bring esports to EGX 2017

ESL UK has announced the details of the ESL Arena’s UK debut at EGX 2017 later this month.

EGX 2017 is the largest gaming show in the UK, and the ESL Arena looks set to make it significantly larger, with two stages for esports events: the Twitch Main Stage and the ESL Premiership stage. The event will run from the 21 to 24 of September.

The Premiership Stage will host the ESL Premiership finals for League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as well as Rainbow Six Siege: EGX Invitational, the first UK Splatoon 2 tournament and a competition for the best drone simulator pilot in the world. There’s up to £20,000 up for grabs.

The Twitch Main Stage will feature a variety of esports competitions. Both stages will be live streamed on Http://twitch.tv/twitch. The schedule can be found here for the Premiership stage.

The ESL Arena will also feature the Intel Experience Zone, the ESL Open LAN Area, an Expo for purchasing computer parts and peripherals, and sessions teaching people how to put a PC together.

The ESL Arena is powered by Intel, and is a mainstay at gaming events around the world. The event’s appearance at EGX is a massive boost for UK esports.

“We’re ecstatic to be partnering with EGX, Intel and Twitch to deliver what’s set to be the ultimate esports experience in this calendar year,” said James Dean, managing director at ESL UK, in a press release. “The Arena is far more than just a tournament, it’s a full-360 celebration of all aspects of esports which promises something to see or do for all EGX visitors.”

“The ESL Arena would not be possible without Intel. ESL has recently entered into a global partnership with Intel after working together for over 10 years to hold incredible events such as Intel Extreme Masters, ESL Pro League, and many others. We’re thrilled to expand this partnership in the UK.”
