ESL UK is bringing ESL Premiership finals to EGX

ESL UK is bringing the Autumn Season League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive finals of the ESL Premiership to the ESL Main Stage at EGX.

There’s over £20,000 in prize money across the two finals, with the winning team for both qualifying for the opportunity to go on to compete in Europe as part of ESL’s Path to Pro initiative.

It’s big news, with the League of Legends winners getting an automatic admission to the EU Challenger Series Qualifiers in 2018, while the team that wins the CS:GO premiership will be given a slot in the ESEA Mountain Dew League to compete with some of Europe’s best teams.

“We are super excited about collaborating with EGX this year,” commented James Dean, managing director of ESL UK, in a press release. “Year on year, we have seen substantial growth in viewing figures for the UK Premiership so, this move to EGX not only gives us the opportunity to put on the biggest live finals in the Premiership’s five-year history, but increase the audience further through the events savvy."

"This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of content we’ll be bringing to EGX and we can’t wait to announce more.”

David Lilley, the managing director of Gamer Events, added: "We are delighted to be hosting biggest finals of ESL’s UK Premiership. Esports is something that resonates with our audience and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the ESL UK to increase the esports content at EGX."

EGX will take place from the 21 to 24 September 2017 at the NEC in Birmingham.
