Games Media Awards nominations close TODAY – get your voice heard now

You have until5pm today (Friday, August 14th) to put forward your nominations for this year’s Games Media Awards.

The event returns on October 14th and marks the ninth annual outing of the always-talked-about event which champions the best in games editorial.

After a successful revamp last year – which saw almost every category improved, a new voting system and venue – the October event will see the addition of prizes for YouTubers, Streamers plus a category for Mainstream Voice.

Returning are all the core awards, which focus on writers, not the brands they work for or pay them – plus our audience voted prizes. These include the Players’ Choice (in association with Playfire) voted for by consumers, and the on-the-night vote of Journalists’ Journalist.

This year’s categories in full are:

  • News Writer
  • Feature Writer
  • Games Critic
  • Video Team
  • Mainstream Voice (New)
  • YouTuber (New)
  • Streamer (New)
  • Radio or Podcast Team
  • Rising Star
  • Editorial Team of the Year – Online
  • Editorial Team of the Year – Print
  • Journalists’ Journalist
  • Players’ Choice (in association with Playfire)

We’re looking for input direct from entrants and would-be finalists; industry suggestions and reader lobbying will all be read, but won’t be the overall deciding factor.
