Telltale Games has named Leah Hoyer as its new vice president of creative, putting Hoyer in charge of the writing, design and voiceover teams across the entirety of Telltale Games.
Hoyer has previously worked at The Walt Disney Company and Microsoft, although most recently Hoyer has been working as the head of narrative on Guild Wars 2 at ArenaNet. At Microsoft she worked on exclusives Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive, while she worked at The Walt Disney Company as the Disney channel’s head of original programming.
She’ll have her work cut out for her. Telltale have worked on a laundry list of franchises: Batman, Borderlands, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are just some of the big-hitters, but they’re also working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game in partnership with Marvel.
In addition to directly overseeing a big chunk of the companies work, she’s also going to be leading the Telltale Creative Workshop, an invite-only workshop that is held at the same time as GDC in San Francisco. It’s a workshop that is geared towards those looking to work in narrative design.
