Revolution’s Noirin Carmody named new UKIE Chair

UKIE has appointed Revolution COO and co-founder Noirin Carmody as its new Chair.

She replaces Andy Payne, who has stepped down from the role after more than ten years at the UK games industry trade body. Payne will remain on the UKIE board however and takes up the role of treasurer.

UKIE’s board of directors now includes Sega’s John Clark, State of Play Games’ Katherine Bidwell, FuturLab’s Kirsty Rigden, Barog Game Labs’ Simon Barratt, 505’s Tim Woodley and Andy Payne.

“I am really pleased to welcome the new members of our board of directors to UKIE and am delighted to have Noirin as UKIE’s new Chair,” said UKIE CEO Jo Twist.

“It’s wonderful to have 25 per cent female representation on the board. We have a really exciting 12 months ahead of us and I look forward to working with the new board on continuing our hard work towards making the UK the best place in the world to make and sell games.”
