Simplygon has appointed Matt Connors as its new CEO as the firm begins to accelerate its worldwide growth.
Connors joins after ten years of working with software and services firms, including Apple, Adobe and Macromedia.
Simplygon is best known for its 3D optimisation tool of the same name, used in games such as Telltale’s Game of Thrones series, Capcom’s Resident Evil Revelations 2 and Platinum Games’ Bayonetta 2. In fact, the firm claims its tool was used in 60 per cent of the top 25 titles of the last year.
The company is currently trying to grow its presence worldwide, with new offices opened in San Francisco, Japan, Korea and China, as well as bringing its technology to new markets outside of games development.
“Simplygon has developed a loyal customer base in a very demanding market,” Connors said. “We have an extremely talented team and great technology – the company is poised for growth in both our core video game market and for real-time enterprise and consumer visualisation experiences.”
