Spil Games creates new HTML5 Advocate role

Online gaming firm Spil Games has promoted Robbert Van Os to fill its newly created role of HTML5 Advocate.

The position has been created to facilitate Spil Games’ ramped up efforts in the HTML5 space, which include securing $5m to help developers create new games using the programming language.

Van Os has been at Spil Games for more than ten years, working his way through a number of management roles up to his most recent position of chief technology officer. He has been instrumental in building the firm’s HTML5 platforms.

"Spil Games is more serious than ever about HTML5 since we have seen its traction over the last months and now, in my new roles as HTML5 Advocate, I am there to help developers make the transition," said Van Os. 

"I will really looking at this from the outside looking in, asking what do we at Spil Games need to do to help developers in this space to be successful. 

"This is the most important thing to Spil Games. We have the technology, the eco-system and now we are very focused on making sure we facilitate the most easy and successful transition for developers."
