Rebellion has gone through a massive growth phase over the last 18 months following the acquisition of three other UK studios – Core, Strangelite and Awesome – which have turned it into an operation with over 280 full time development staff. With such a large organisation, the company has been seeking a tool to use in-house for real time monitoring of art assets.
"The objective is always to find better ways of doing things and PrefixNE offered great time savings as well as a leap forwards in terms of performance," explained Dan Thomas, IT manager at the studio of the decision to use PrefixNE.
His team of six technicians is responsible for supplying and maintaining the tools used by the company’s workforce, which is scattered across studios in Oxford, Banbury, Derby and Liverpool.
"Real-time reporting is hugely useful to us. For instance, tasks such as client inventory which were taking an hour can now be completed in 10 minutes.”
Added Thomas: “The PrefixNE server installation was very, very easy. In fact the whole implementation process was excellent and straightforward. We’ve really found it easy to administer since then too. The users haven’t even noticed the change, and that’s as it should be.”
Graeme Pitts-Drake, managing director of Prefix IT, added: “Rebellion’s IT team is working in a highly demanding environment; we’re delighted to be part of the team and hope we can continue to add value as the organisation expands.”
