Independent developers are encouraged to submit their games for this year’s Develop:Brighton Indie Showcase, applications for which open today. It’s free to enter the competition and the judging panel will pick their favourite ten to be given floor space at the conference, which takes place between the 10th and 12th of July, in Brighton. Hence the name.
Of those ten, two games will take home additional prizes from the show. A People’s Choice award and the judges’ Best Of Show. These awards will be given out on Thursday 12th July, on the last day of the show. The ten finalists will have full access to the conference for the three days (though presumably they’ll spend most of that showing their game off to attendees), as well as promotion before the show and a profile on the Develop:Brighton website.
Submissions for the Develop:Brighton Indie Showcase close on May 18th, which gives you just over two weeks to get involved. Over 120 submissions were sifted through last year to form a top ten, so competition is fierce. But don’t let that put you off. Your chances of being picked are never lower than if you don’t apply. Full details and entry submission can be found on the Develop:Brighton website.
