Organisers of the GDC Game Connection event that pairs studios with publishers have said the 2007 showing doubled attendance over the previous year's showing.

Game Connection doubled up for GDC 07

The event, which took place in March, drew in 102 exhibitors selling their new projects or technology also played host to over 500 attendees from publishers and studios looking to buy. 90 per cent of the top 20 publishers were in attendance and just over 3100 meetings took place in two days, with 37 different companies represented.

Meanwhile companion event Game Connection Services saw 43 exhibitors meet with over 180 potential buyers.

“Game Connection brought developers and publishers together for over 3,100 meetings this year and saw hundreds of deals get made,” said Pierre Carde, general director of Connection Events.

"While our goal is to make it easy for companies to find the right customer and buyers to save time, we also see this as a new and important way to grow the video game industry as a whole.”
