Just days after Eidos announced plans to open a studio in Montréal, and a week after Ubisoft said it would grow its own team in the city, QA specialist Babel Media has confirmed plans to grow its own Quebec base to 500 staff.

Babel is doubling the capacity of its facility in Montréal (pictured) recruiting an additional 350 personnel that will take the company’s headcount to 500 this year.

“We have recently signed contracts with clients who, without exaggeration, own some of the greatest IP in the world,“ said Algy Williams, MD of Babel.

“We will be testing their games across all platforms, including PS3 and Xbox 360, and we need to recruit talented and motivated people who are looking for a career in the games industry."

Babel is looking for testers to work in the company’s fast growing functionality QA department, but is also hiring testers and porters for its wireless department as well as project managers across all its service lines, including localisation.

Babel opened its Montreal base in August 2005 – the office is the company’s North American HQ and works across all platforms.
