Felipe Falanghe says 'the game is conceptually complete'

Kerbal Space Progam loses lead developer

Squad, the studio behind Kerbal Space Program, has revealed Felipe Falanghe is stepping down as the game’s lead developer.

Falanghe is credited with the conception of the physics-based space simulator, and says the game has evolved beyond anything he imagined, GamaSutra reports.

While development on the game will continue, it will not be led by Falanghe. He intends to stay in games development, but it is still unclear whether he will be staying with Squad or heading to pastures new.

In a forum post, he thanked both the players and his fellow developers for their support and reflects on times when he worried that any decision could "morph [the game] into something else".

He wrote: "There was a fine line we needed to stay on, lest we let the project slip and become something other than what we intended. That is no longer the case, and that’s a very good thing. It means that conceptually, the game is complete."
