A disc version of Red Barrels’ Outlast Trinity is heading to retail worldwide courtesy of Warner Bros.
Outlast Trinity includes the original Outlast, sequel Outlast 2 and DLC release Outlast Trinity in a single SKU. It’s due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC on April 28th alongside the release of Outlast 2.
Red Barrels has made a name for itself in the survival horror genre with the original Outlast game,” Warner’s American senior VP of sales Kevin Kebodeaux said. We look forward to working closely with this great group of developers to bring Outlast Trinity to gamers around the world.”
Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin added: "We’ve been lucky to have such an amazing fan base, and none of this would have been possible without their support. Ever since we released Outlast in 2013, a physical version has been one of the top requests, so we’re obviously thrilled to finally give people the entire series in one bundle of terror."
Outlast was first released in 2013. It’s set in the remote mountains of Colorado inside an abandoned mental asylum. The game was supplemented by the Whistleblower DLC, which was set both before and after the events of the game.
Outlast 2 takes the story to the Arizona desert. In the words of the press release: Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, must take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch.
As the two follow a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them miles into the Arizona desert to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.”
