Warner Bros has released a new video detailing the tremendous fan service that Doctor Who fans will receive in LEGO Dimensions.
All 13 incarnations of the Doctor (yes, 13 – our current Timelord Peter Capaldi may be the 12th Doctor, but we also have John hurt’s ‘War Doctor’ quietly nestled between the eighth and ninth Doctors) will feature to some degree, interacting with the game’s other stars Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle.
When the 12th Doctor is defeated in the level, he returns as the 1st Doctor and then regenerates back up to the 12th Doctor again,” the press release says. The interior of the TARDIS will reflect the corresponding Doctor the player embodies or can be manually selected. There’s even a jukebox inside where players can choose among different versions of the Doctor Who theme music.”
Also confirmed are current companion Clara Oswald and Missy (or, to long-term fans, The Master) who will be voiced by Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez respectively. Villains include the Daleks and Cybermen.
The cost of getting in on the Doctor Who action is considerable, though. The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack is currently up for pre-order at 95. That will grab you access to a Who-themed level. Those wanting more will need to buy a 30 Level Pack, which offers an additional mission-based Doctor Who level”, as well as 12th Doctor, TARDIS and K-9 minifigures. There will also be a 15 Fun Pack including Dalek and Cyberman figures.
LEGO Dimensions will be released on September 29th.
