Network N has revealed The Loadout, a brand new digital outlet “covering the biggest names, games, and news from the world of competitive gaming, esports, and streaming”.
Network N’s first big brand launch since PCGamesN in 2012, The Loadout will focus content on “the stories, fans, and culture that surround [gaming], with a focus on original reporting”.
Led by editor Jessica Wells – who formally worked for Network N’s agency team – The Loadout says it is “already working with respected freelancers in the industry” alongside new staff writer, Jamie Hore.
“We’re looking forward to being able to cover the biggest games across all platforms and the people who play them, plus the weird and wonderful storylines they throw up,” said a Network N press statement. “We’re excited to connect with a new audience, and to grow The Loadout’s reach and reputation just as we have with PCGN over the past seven years.”
“I’m delighted to be part of the launch crew for The Loadout and proud to be leading the site forward,” said editor Jessica Wells. “It’s an incredibly exciting project and one that we’ve all been working very hard on for the last few months. I can safely say that the future is bright – even if it is bright green in this case.”
Network N partnered up with GAME last year to produce a new, free gaming magazine. The self-titled GAME magazine follows in the footsteps of GameStop’s long-running Game Informer title in the US, and is free distributed, for free, in GAME stores, giving the publication”‘more reach than any other UK game magazine, and possibly all of them put together”.
Network N’s COO Tim Edwards said at the time: “We’re excited to build on the success of our digital and in-store work with GAME, and leverage the distribution and audience engagement opportunity. We have recruited the best UK editorial team for this issue and we’re excited about the massive stories and exclusives we’re putting in.”
