Video sharing site Dailymotion has become the latest company to branch out into live video game streaming.
Dailymotion Games, in the words of its creators, “offers the gaming and electronic sports community a custom-built environment for viewing, sharing, uploading and streaming personal gaming and gaming competitions”.
Streamers will get access to a live control panel, complete with a range of monetisation options while users will get a full host of search and social options.
“Since 2011, with the first Dailymotion Cup on Starcraft, Dailymotion has accompanied eSport growth on the Internet,” COO Martin Rogard said. “Dailymotion Games is entirely dedicated to eSports fans and streamers who come together every evening to form an amazingly talented and gregarious community.
“Over the coming months, we will significantly increase our investment in the eSport domain to ensure worldwide recognition of all our talented content producers.”
Gaming content already generates over 180m video views per month, according to Comscore data. There are already Dailymotion apps for PS4, iOS and Android.
