27m viewers watched the 2014 League of Legends final

Riot has revealed that 27m unique viewers streamed coverage of the League of Legends 2014 Finals.

Over 100 hours of live content in 19 languages was broadcast by 40 partners throughout the event’s 15 days, racking up 288m cumulative daily unique page impressions and 179m hours of watched eSport.

The final showdown itself saw peak concurrent viewers of 11.2m, up from last year’s 8.7m. Overall unique viewers reached 27m, which was actually down 15 per cent on last year’s 32m.

On average viewers watched the action for 67 minutes, up on 2013’s 42 minute average.

“It’s awesome to see fans enjoying Worlds as a community, whether it’s with 40,000 friends cheering together in Sangam Stadium, or as a group staying up late at a local viewing party halfway across the world,” Riot said.

“We’re honoured by your passion and participation. Thank you for tuning in.”
