Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, they released their latest album 72 Seasons. Most recently, Metallica has embarked on the massive M72 World Tour, with dates scheduled through 2025.

Metallica heads out on the Metallica: M72 World Tour in April 2025. After kicking off at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY, the tour will cover major cities in North America through the summer of 2025.

The Metallica: M72 World Tour begins on April 19 at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase several VIP package options for the M72 World Tour. VIP packages include perks such as:

  • One backstage meet and greet experience with two bandmembers, which includes a photo taken by the tour photographer, and a group conversation with the same two band members**
  • Production tour led by a Metallica crew member and on-stage group photo***
  • Access to a designated official tour merchandise stand for a limited time prior to general doors
  • One ticket to the Snake Pit, an exclusive standing section located in the middle of the stage

**Which bandmembers participate will vary by show and will not be announced ahead of time. Only one meet and greet per 2-day package purchased.

Special guests on the M72 World Tour include Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies, plus Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills in markets with two shows. Be sure to check individual event pages for the exact lineup.

Tickets for Metallica’s M72 World Tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Various presales will begin on Monday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

    YTT NEVER DISSAPOINTS! So you can already imagine how bad ass of a concert it was. I mean Metallica in such an intimate venue!! Doesn’t get any better than that!

    This charity concert did not deliver the show I was expecting… they played three main songs and the rest was stuff no one cared about. This was a very expensive show but I thought they would deliver. Didn’t even play sad but true, enter sandman, or whiskey in the jar. Everyone in my section left in disbelief

    This was definitely in the top 3 shows I have ever been to! Metallica is awesome. When you have done something for 40 plus years you have mastered your profession and that they have! Great venue and a great evening, I will remember this show for a lifetime!

    Slow songs, acoustic stuff + Sammy Hagar (whom we do not care for at all) was opening. The mosh pit was replaced with luxury couches for VIP donors and billionaires. Crazy expensive tickets and Metallica didn't play very long.

    My 8th Metallica concert, and AWMH this year did not disappoint one bit! Metallica's setlist was very unpredictable, with "Low Man's Lyric"and "The Unforgiven II"being the highlights of the night, and with an epic closer by "Master of Puppets"no less. YouTube Theater was the perfect location for an intimate show like this, with its awesome acoustics and visuals. This will definitely hype up the Metallica fandom in preparation for the 30-year anniversaries of the Load & Reload albums.

    It was good, but not what I was expecting for the amount of money spent for tickets. I was hoping for more of their greatest hits, and less of random songs from older albums Still good as Metallica always is, and glad the money went to charity. Otherwise, I would be extremely disappointed.

    I should have done more research on the tickets. When I saw the tickets for Metallica, I was elated to purchase the tickets however, I did not realize it was a fundraiser. There was no concert vibe and the performance was disappointing for the amount of money we spent. Another issue was the money we prepaid for parking, at another location, when they failed to mention that the parking for the event was included.
