Golden State Warriors History

Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors. In 1971, the Golden State Warriors were born when the team moved across the Bay to Oakland.

The team's storied history includes seven NBA Championships, an NBA-record 73 wins during the 2015–16 season, eight players named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team and 31 members inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Golden State Warriors also have the distinction of having the third most NBA Championships to their name (seven), and the third-most appearances in the NBA Finals (10). The only teams that have more are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The current team is led by two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, who won the Clutch Player of the Year Award in 2024, and eight-time All-NBA Defensive selection Draymond Green. The Golden State Warriors’ most recent NBA Championship came in 2022.

  • Warriors vs Suns

by HH on 1/3/25Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the game but I don’t like the spectacle of it all. Loud music constantly, lights flashing always, it’s too much. And the dude on the jumbo Tron telling me to “stand up” and “make noise” - gross. Whatever that dude said I did the opposite.

It's always a great time at the chase center to watch the Warriors, win or loose. Tickets are pricey, I always keep up on ticket deals so I can get the best seats for the right price.

We sat in seats A2 section 15 seats 15 & 16 and it was an amazing view. We were less than 20 feet away from the court. The customer service was impeccable. The Chase Club was a phenomenal experience. We would love to do it again.

  • Awesome game and experienxe

by Ptownnana on 12/11/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent venue and seats! The game was amazing!!

  • Loud and generic

by E Dub on 12/9/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

I love the Warriors, but everything about the Chase Center, aside from the building itself, is pretty terrible. The endless cookie cutter rap music is pumped at high levels to make up for the unengaged crowd, even while the game is going on. The dance groups, announcer, and promotions are all tired and boring. Long gone are the days of a live funk band, loud and diverse crowd, and a cool Oakland vibe. I know I sound like a bitter old man, but the Oakland Coliseum experience crushed this homogenized excuse for one. I’ll be content to watch what I can on TV, as a live Warriors (or likely any NBA team) game is a ripoff.

  • Epic Experience at Chase

So impressed by the facility but most importantly all of the amazing team members / staff at Chase who made my son and I who flew from New Zealand to see the Warriors, feel so at home. Was EPIC!
